Google Analytics Integration

Melody Jaimon • December 10, 2022

Your site has a native Google Analytics integration, making it simple to track website visits in Google Analytics (and other Google Tracking Tools). Furthermore, the site automatically records site visits with our native analytics feature, so adding your own Google Analytics ID is entirely unnecessary.

Even though we provide a native interface, Google Analytics will not instantly load on your website. For Google Analytics to appear on your website, you must configure the integration using your own Google Analytics ID.

Google Analytics integration is based on Google's Global Site Tag technology, often known as gtags. This is compatible with numerous Google-owned tracking technologies. This implies you can use your Google ID for the following Google properties:

  • AdWords Conversion ID (AW-*)
  • Flood Light / Double Click Tracking ID (DC-*)
  • Google Global Measurement ID (G-*)
  • Google Analytics Property ID (UA-*)

Google Analytics 4 has taken the place of Universal Analytics. All standard Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits on July 1, 2023. On July 1, 2024, 360 Universal Analytics properties will stop processing new hits. Make the switch to Google Analytics 4 to understand how to migrate.

How to Add Google Analytics

If you haven't previously, establish a Google Analytics account, a property, a data stream, and data collection inside your Google Analytics account. To learn how to do this, see [GA4] Set up Analytics for a CMS-hosted website.

To include Google Analytics onto your site, follow these steps:

  1. Click Settings on the left side, then the Google Analytics tab.
  2. Enter the Google Analytics code.
  3. To confirm, press Enter.

Because your site already provides data via your dashboard, tracking statistics with Google Analytics is typically unnecessary. This option is given as a convenience to those who are already familiar with Google Analytics or who specifically require Google Analytics.

Invalid Google Analytics Account Error

This indicates that your Google Analytics account is invalid, misspelt, or you are entering the incorrect code.

IP Anonymization/Privacy

IP anonymization is enabled by default in both the native site analytics and the Google Analytics integration. This implies that site visitors' IP addresses are not immediately provided to Google Analytics or the site's native analytics.

Disabling Tracking

We can deactivate all tracking for your site upon your request. This will remove native site analytics as well as any other built-in technology that tracks users. To disable tracking, contact Support.
