Upload a File

Use the File widget to share downloadable content with your visitors. Download and share flyers, ebooks, and other documents. Visitors can share download links via email and social media. Before offering downloads, know that your content could be shared without your knowledge. Don't download sensitive or personal documents. Never upload copyright-protected media or files.


Any file (text, image, video, etc.) uploaded to the system is public. Uploading personal or confidential information is not permitted. Delete the file from the picker to completely remove it.


You are unable to upload files to your root folder.


To include the widget:


  1. Click Widgets in the left panel.
  2. Drag the File widget into your website.

Content Editor

The editor will not recognise file names that do not use standardised characters (a-z and 1-9).


  • The following file types are supported:  .pdf, .xls, .xlsx, .doc, .docx, .zip, .ppt, .pptx, .psd, .txt, .xml, .mp3, .ttf, .otf, .woff, .eot, .svg, .odt, .ott, .js, .css, .png, .jpg, .gif, .jpeg, .rar
  • The maximum file size is 50MB.
  • Spaces in file names are not allowed.


To contact the content editor, follow these steps:


  1. Right-click the widget, then click Edit Content.
  2. Type text to appear on the button.
  3. Click +Files.
  4. The Uploaded Files window appears. Click Upload New File to add files. You can upload multiple files at the same time.
  5. To add files or folders, drag them in or click Choose files. Dropbox, Google Drive, a link, or Gmail can also be used to download files.
  6. After you've chosen your files, click Upload. When the upload is finished, you will be notified.

Design Editor

Right-click the widget and select Edit Design to access the design editor.


Widget Design contains information about design options that are not specific to this widget (for example, layout, style, or spacing).
