Sidebar Layout for Desktop

You can modify the layout of your desktop site to a sidebar layout. A sidebar layout shows the site's header on the side (either left or right)and is a terrific way to give your website a distinctive appearance. The sidebar header also functions as a sticky header, so it is constantly visible on the screen, and you can add widgets to it just like any other row.

• When you transition from a regular site style to a sidebar layout, the header retains the logo, but all of your widgets are removed (similar to switching the header layout on the top header layout). The background colour will change depending on the layout you choose.
• The sidebar navigation does not support the shrinking header. The sidebar is always visible on the site, regardless of how far down the page you scroll.
• On screens with a width of less than 1090 pixels, all of the sidebar's content except for the first image will be hidden, and an icon for the expand menu will show up. In the design editor, you can change the colour of the trigger button that shows up.

To change your site to a sidebar layout, do the following:

1. Click Design on the left side, followed by Site Layout.

2. Select the sidebar layout, then drag and drop widgets into the sidebar header to customise it.

Hover over the sidebar and click Sidebar in the top right corner to edit the design of the sidebar header. You can apply one of several sidebar header layouts to your site, display it on the left or right side of the screen, define its width, and more.
