Upload Products to eBay

Integration with eBay.com makes it easy for merchants to get their products in front of 150 million potential buyers. You can automatically add new products, update inventory, and sync sales with eBay, which acts as an extra storefront that works well with your online shop.

With the eBay.com integration, you can choose products from your Store catalog that you want to sell on eBay. Your products will then be available to millions of buyers on eBay. Continue to manage your product in Store. If you want to change the price or any other property of a product, you can do so as usual without leaving your Store Control Panel.

This feature is available for all supported countries using the Codisto LINQ app from the App Market in the Store Control Panel.

Get Started with eBay

Set up your seller account before you can start selling on eBay. Here are the things you need to do:

  1. Sign up to be a member of eBay.
  2. Choose how you'll pay the fees that eBay charges sellers.
  3. Call eBay Customer Service or send them an email to confirm your identity.
  4. Sign up for an electronic payment method that is accepted and safer.

When the integration is done, the eBay page in your Control Panel will show you how many products you've sent to eBay and how much you've made from those sales. Select the items you want to sell on eBay by clicking Pick Products.

Connect Store to eBay

Once you successfully set up your eBay account, you can now integrate your StoreFront store with your eBay account.

To connect your StoreFront store:

  1. In the left panel, select eCommerce, then hit Manage Store.
  2. Select All Sales Channels, and select eBay.
  3. Hit Install, follow the wizard instructions to fulfill the connection.
  4. Lastly, click the eBay category in which you will be listing your products. Make sure to select the general category for all your items. You can update the category for certain products at a later time.

Upon finishing the integration, the eBay page in your Control Panel will give you the number of items uploaded to eBay and the eBay order total. Select Pick Products to choose the products that you will be listing on eBay.

List Products on eBay

Product Category

You chose the general product category for all of your items when you linked your store to your eBay account.

To put these things in a different group:

  1. Select Catalog in the Store Control Panel, then click Categories.
  2. Click on Category Products. Choose a product type that has already been set up or click Create New Product to make a new one.
  3. Click the product to start editing it, click the Attributes tab, choose the new eBay category for this item, and set the product's condition.

Before you upload your products to eBay, make sure you hav
e chosen the right categories for them. If you don't do that, eBay won't include your items in the search results.

Product Attributes

Along with the eBay product category, the item gets a list of other attributes that describe some important product parameters. All of the attributes that say "eBay attribute" are needed. Go to the Store Control Panel, click Catalog, click Edit Product, and click the Attributes tab to see the list of attributes. Fill out the required fields for each item you'll be selling on eBay.

Upload Products to eBay

To put your items on eBay, do the following:

  1. Click Catalog in the Store Control Panel, then click Products.
  2. Choose items from the list, and then click Add items to eBay listing.

Putting items on eBay can take anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes. When the upload is done, you will see a message that says so.

If the uploaded items don't meet eBay's requirements for selling, Store will show an error.

All items that are uploaded to eBay successfully are given a unique eBay ID. In the
Control Panel > Catalog, the eBay ID is shown as a link that takes you to the eBay page for that product. Now, people can buy your items on eBay.

Manage eBay Orders in Store

When someone buys something from you on eBay, the order is registered in your eBay account and in your Store Control Panel → My Sales → Orders. You will also get an email at the admin email address you put in the Store Control Panel → Settings → Mail.

Your eBay account will automatically share the number of items in stock, customer information, and other order information with the Store Control Panel. Click on the eBay Order ID link to see the order details.

If the order status is changed in the Store, the change is made in the eBay account automatically. You can only upload items to eBay if you have an Advanced Store or higher.

FAQs

  • My items don't fit into just one category on eBay. Can I put some of my items in a different category?

Yes, you can. Please do what is written below. It's very important to put each of your items in the right eBay category, because that affects whether or not they will show up in eBay search results. If a product is in the wrong eBay category or doesn't have a category assigned to it, it will be taken out of the search results.

  • When I put my items on eBay, I get an error. What do I need to do?

You might get an error after uploading your items to eBay if your Control Panel or eBay account is not set up correctly. The error will show up in Catalog > Products > Listed on eBay > Uploaded Products. If there is a problem with Website Builder, the error will say "Message from StoreFront." If the error is caused by a wrong setting in the eBay account, the error will be called "Message from eBay."

    Message from StoreFront

Usually, this message means that you have entered the wrong product parameters. Please check to see that:

    • You have chosen a general category on eBay.
    • You have filled out the required eBay product attributes.

    Message from eBay

Here are some common errors that happen when your eBay account is set up wrong.

    1. If you want to list this item, you must accept PayPal or other approved electronic payments. Make sure that your eBay account has the payment policies set up.
    2. There must be at least one valid shipping service chosen. Check the postage settings in your eBay account's business policies. At least one postage policy needs to be turned on.
    3. There must be a return policy. Make sure that your eBay account has return policies set up. You should turn on at least one return rule or say that you do not accept returns.
    4. Details about the item are missing from the listing: Please give details about the item you need. Check the Control Panel, Catalog, Product Editor page, tab "Attributes," and your products to make sure you've filled in all the required eBay attributes.
  • We've seen that you put an email address on your listing.

No matter if the email address is clickable or not, it is no longer allowed in eBay listings. Please make sure that there are no email addresses in your listing. Before you resubmit your listing, take out any email addresses from the item description, payment instructions, return instructions, etc.

In eBay's new links policy, links to email clients, links that can't be clicked on, and shortened URLs (like bitly or tinyurl) are among the other things that are no longer allowed.

  • There are choices for my goods. Could I put them on eBay?

Yes, you can. To put a product on eBay that has options that can be chosen, you need to make product combinations that include these options.

In the Control Panel, under "Catalog," you can make product combinations. Choose the product you want to change, click the tab Options, and then click the sub-tab Combinations.

It is important that each combination of products has its own SKU number. We suggest giving product combinations SKU numbers that don't change. It makes it easier to keep track of the amount of stock. For example, if the SKU number for the base product is "ABC," two combinations with different product options could have the SKU numbers "ABC-1" and "ABC-2."
